A community platform for printmaking, education, and collective exchange
About San Diego Printmaking Society
San Diego Printmaking Society (SDPS) is a community-driven platform dedicated to advancing printmaking through education, collaboration, and collective exchange. Rooted in accessibility and community engagement, SDPS supports artists across disciplines while centering printmaking as both a technical practice and a social tool.
Founded through grassroots teaching, workshops, and exhibitions, SDPS works closely with local and cross-border communities throughout San Diego, Barrio Logan, and Tijuana. The organization partners with nonprofits, museums, cultural spaces, and community organizations to bring printmaking to diverse populations, including unhoused communities, disabled adults, youth, and emerging artists.
SDPS embraces printmaking in its expanded forms—relief, intaglio, screenprinting, monotype, and experimental processes—while encouraging interdisciplinary approaches that intersect with installation, sculpture, and collaborative practice. Through exhibitions, print exchanges, workshops, and public programs, SDPS fosters an inclusive environment where process, materiality, and shared knowledge are central.
At its core, San Diego Printmaking Society exists to make printmaking accessible, relevant, and alive—honoring its history while pushing its possibilities forward through community, education, and exchange.
